Well, that's an easy answer. Go to a fabric store and buy up! Ha, just kidding.... I stumbled upon these two great posts about how much yardage to purchase, and I just have to document somewhere:

http://www.ikatbag.com/2010/06/how-i-estimate-yardage.html
Rae pretty much seems to buy like I do. A bonus of buying 1/2 yard increments of "I have to have it" fabrics is that Noodlehead (noodlehead.com) patterns generally use 1/2 yard cuts. And I love sewing Noodlehead patterns :)
I love the info on Ikat. Very useful for those who are interested in sewing garments. Which I totally am, and am also totally intimidated by. She makes it look easy, which also means she is very very good at it!
