very cute, i'd love to try this pattern, happy holidays!
Love it all. The first item I ever made was an elastic waist skirt when I was 10. Purple with red roses. I wore the heck out of it! I still love simple elastic skirts, and that bird print would be great.
acbrown28 at gmail dot com
Thanks!
Love the print! My first try was a pair of pants -ambitious, I know!- and they were perfect, but alas, 4 sizes too small! haha!

I remember making a pillow with my granny when I was a little girl :)

I sewed a night gown and it was not a keeper at all... but I was 12 years old!
the first thing i ever sewed was a fabric produce bag. it didn't need to look nice but it worked so it turned out great!
Oh, how beautiful! It's been a little while since I've made any clothes! Thanks for a chance to win this beautiful fabric!
My grandmas taught me to sew when I was young, so I'm really not sure if it was the first thing, but I do remember doll clothes and I did keep them, for a very long time! Thanks for the chance!
Cute, cute fabric! Thank you for this opportunity to enter the giveaway. The first thing I sewed was in 7th grade home economics - an apron. It was definitely a keeper!
The first thing I ever sewed (with guidance from my mom)was a satin cloak in high school. It was a keeper, because I still use it just about every year for a halloween costume. Thanks for the giveaway! robyn(dot)geddes(at)gmail(dot)com
Not the first thing I ever made, but something I remember very vividly is my non-sewing mom helping me make pajamas for my doll. They were super-cute and made of pastel, glittery fabric. Pretty awesome.
Very cute skirt pattern, my daughters love wearing skirts too! :) Thanks for the chance!
Perfect pairing of fabric and pattern!
In fact the first thing I sewed was a skirt - a dirndl!
The first thing I ever sewed, was a reversible jacket for my oldest daughter. It turned out much better than I thought it would.
The first think I ever sewed was a hideous polkadot on top lisa frankenfloral on bottom jumper dress. I wore that thing everywhere, and I rocked the becky home-ecky look :)
the first thing i ever sewed - maybe the "jams" shorts i made in junior high out of bright fruit print fabric?!
I think it was a floppy disk case, in primary school, for my dad... Probably not a keeper, lol!
Back at school I made an appliqued wall hanging with my name on it. It was appalling, we were given no direction at all!!
Since then, the first thing I made was 20 handsewn lavendar hearts for friends and family one christmas, I believe they have all kept them!
the first thing i ever sewed was 3 cafe curtains-yes, a keeper-still hanging! thanks for the giveaway!
Cute, I'd love to try it! Thanks for the chance to win =)
i did my baby's bed set.
unfortunately after the first laundry it became a non-keeper...
:)
I think the first thing I ever sewed was some hideous reverse applique project we had to do in home ec class. Back then I was such a hopeless sewer that I even managed to get my hair caught in the machine. Luckily it didn't put me off for life and I bought a sewing machine just over a year ago and fell in love!
I sewed myself a skirt, but for some reason, I made it about 2 sizes too big. It was just a little ugly too.
The first thing I remember sewing was a pair of pajamas with cow fabric. LOVED those jammies!
Adorable. The first thing I ever sewed for myself was my prom dress. It was inspired by the dress Audrey Hepburn wore in the opening credits of Breakfast at Tiffanys. If I can totally toot my own horn, it turned out FABULOUS and I got a plethora of comments!
I use to sew skirts and shorts for myself when I was younger, but not done any clothes for years...much prefer making quilts etc.
The first thing I ever sewed was a skirt from a pair of waayy too big pants. I wore it once. Made it much smaller. Wore it one more time. The end. haha fortunately the things I made these days get worn a lot more!
Reversible tote...
Thx for the chance to win ^^v
Love that print!
The first thing I ever sewed was a pair of hideous leopard knit pants in the 6th grade. That was the end of my sewing adventures until I was an adult. My first project as an adult was the reversible wrap skirt from the Sew-Mama-Sew tutorial. It turned out great and I wear it all the time.
The first thing I ever sewed was sleeping bags and pillows for my Barbies out of my Grandma's scraps of fabric when I was in single digits. The first thing I sewed that was a keeper was a messenger bag when I was 12.
Brevistraex@gmail.com
I honestly don't remember the first thing I ever sewed. My mom was sewing all the time when I was younger, so I just picked it up early and kept going. My first sewing project was probably something simple like doll clothes made with needle and thread. And they probably turned out terrible but I'm sure I loved them.
The first thing I ever sewed was a hook case for my crochet hooks. It was a keeper, although a tad crooked lol.
first thing I ever sewed would be pillow case. The kids use it to this day. So I guess its a keeper. Definetly flawed none the less.
I've had that pattern on my wishlist for the longest time! I think the first thing I ever sewed was a pencil case in school many years ago - I actually just threw it out this year, when it became to tatty to use anymore. When I took up sewing again the first thing I sewed was a bag from Cath Kidston's book 'Sew' - it was a keeper, I use it constantly!
Thanks for the giveaway
Sarah @ http://kiwigetscrafty.blogspot.com
It's so hard to remember what the first thing I ever sewed was. I guess that shows it wasn't a keeper. Thanks for offering such a great prize. Cheers!
Embroidery was first, thanks to grandma! Then I made some clothes for a 4-h project. Not bad for being so young :)
i love birdy fabric..the first thing i ever sewed was a felt handbag in hs..you would not believe how many people loved it..hilarious! :) raineoc@yahoo.com
my first bit of sewing was done in home economics in grade 7, it was an A line skirt which I did a good job on and wore a lot.
Thank you....your giveaway is beautiful fabric.
I got my sewing machine for Christmas last year and decided to make myself a shirt. It didn't fit AT ALL and looked horrible. So I bunched it up and threw it in a drawer. My next project was a quilt, and since that didn't have to fit anyone, it turned out wonderfully!! :)
My first sewed item was a softie bear when I was a child. Then I thought it was really beautiful, now I doubt it ;).
Thsi pattern and the fabric are wonderful. Thank you so much for this chance
I'm having a giveaway for the SMS too
That is a cute skirt! The first thing I remember sewing was a beanbag when I was really little. I figured that one big stitch was just as good--and more efficient--than a lot of small stitches. I was so surprised to see that it left a big hole! That was one lesson I only had to learn once. Merry Christmas!
First thing I ever sewed was a tote bag. Wasn't exactly a keeper but I kept it anyway :)
PJs, because my mother was wise and knew I'd only wear my first project at night. Thanks!!
I remember making a skirt with girl scouts. Super simple, and I feel like I had a pretty comprehensive understanding of the process compared to my peers. Perhaps because I had been hemming my school uniform skirts for some time at that point. Thanks for the giveaway! So fun! sneakfuzz (at) hotmail (dot) com
The first thing I did was burp cloths for my eldest son and I used then through my first three kids, so I guess they were a keeper they were getting pretty ratty by the fourth though... :)
The first item I ever sewed was a yucky pre-packaged pillow from a kit in Home Ec in 8th grade. It was awful, definitely NOT a keeper!
j_poshusta@yahoo.com
The first thing I ever sewed was a gathered skirt and a blouse with a rounded collar. It creased terribly, but I was quite proud. I remember wearing it once !
The first thing I ever sewed was a dress for my troll. I don't know if anyone else would have kept it, but I was only around 7 and was happy my troll had clothes!
My mother taught me to sew at a very young age, and I have some memories of a "crazy quilt" for my American Girl doll, and little stuffed creatures made from felt. I only rediscovered sewing recently, and my first project was a red skirt (from another Simplicity pattern). It's not perfect, but I love that skirt!
I decided for my first project to make window quilts for our 6 foot tall windows...out of 2 1/2" squares. They were unfinished needless to say rofl. froggygirldesigns at gmail dot com
I made baby legs. And they are still going strong on baby #3! Thanks for the chance to win!
A needle case that my mother still uses. Thanks for the chance to win such a great giveaway.
The first thing ever was in middle school and it was letter shaped pillows. I remember spelling my name and keeping them for a long time. After that it was a dress for myself and that was NOT a keeper...impossible to wear.
My grandma taught me to sew, and we started with an apron. It was yellow with cream lace and it was a keeper!!
My mum taught me to sew and the first thing I remember making was a Shirt. It was a sleeveless top with a high neck that rolled down and was made of pink stretch crinkled jersey. I made it in the early nineties and have to confess wore it till it was quite midriff in length in the naughties with overalls. Oh the fashion crimes we commit. Mind you I must have done an alright job on the sewing because it was still in tact and wearable when I decided it wasn't really the fashion any more.
The first thing I sewed was a dress, by hand, using a self made pattern. I got so frustrated, I got the hot glue gun to finish it off. I then washed it and it promptly fell apart!
The first thing i ever sewed was a nappy. It was mostly usable.
Awesome print and pattern! I made a denim tote in 4-h when I was a kid, and still have it! :)
The first thing I made was a pillow in home ec class years ago, and I loved it!
If my memory serves me right, my first sewing project was an apron in home ec. Many years ago. I'm sure we had to wear them in class when we did some cooking.
I sewed a dress. It was a keeper but I don't know where it is now, since I was 12 when I made it!

the first thing i ever sewed was a stuffed platypus!
The first thing I sewed was a Halloween costume for my little girl. She was a tiger.
mframe00@gmail.com
I made a canvas tote. It would have been a keeper, but my sewing teacher took them home for "safe keeping" and never brought them back. Boo.
peachstateme(at)hotmail(d0t)com
Beautiful!! I've only made one skirt before.
I got my sewing machine only last year, and the first thing I sewed was a diaper stacker for my daughter...I'm still using it now..an plan to for my next child as well!
nabihawangde(at)gmail(dot)com
I made a skirt, but passed it on to my mom because it fit me oddly.
I started sewing when I was a little girl. I can't honestly remember the first thing I made- but when I took home ec in junior high one of our first projects was to make a doll out of a block of wood for the body, and fabric for little hanging legs. I held on to that thing for years! It was just nice to get to look at something that I made with my own two hands. ann.cardamone @ gmail.com
My first item was an A-line skirt which I made in Home Economics.I did wear the skirt as it was so easy and turned out well. mynadala@gmail.com
My first sewing project was a pillow that I made in 4-H, and it's still in my parent's living room. I also made a skort outfit for 4-H that I think I wore a few times, but it wasn't all that fashionable!
ruholdt AT hotmail DOT com
Ok, my first thing was a dress and it was so not a keeper. Came out horrible and the fabric was awful.
My first thing I sewed was a pouch and it was for my sister. I think she loved it.
anghhong@yahoo.com
I don't remember the first thing I sewed so I guess it wasn't a keeper but here is the first thing my three year old sewed and it definitely is a keeper.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/51802232@N04/6321589740/in/photostream
The first thing I sewed was a tote bag. It wasn't lined, but I still have it. I have recently started making myself clothes. I tried and liked the simplicity 2226 pattern. I'd love to try this one as well. Thanks!
kristie_keely(at)yahoo(d0t)com
That fabric is so cute! When i was nine years old, my best friend and I sewed so many clothes (by hand) for our troll dolls. We had so much fun. Thanks for the chance to win :)

What a lovely offering, i'd love to try it out. Hmm...first thing i ever sewed. Seems to me i was always sewing, first at my mama's side then solo. I think the first thing i sewed was some dolls clothing, there were endless dolls clothes! Right, i'm off to look around your world...one of the gifts of giveaway day!
The first thing I ever sewed was a little doll dress when I was 4. That was a keeper (for memories' sake, mostly). Several things soon after were not.
The first thing I ever sewed was an A-line skirt from the Built by Wendy Sew U book! It turned out surprisingly well and I learned how to sew a zipper pretty much perfectly.
If I win, please send a note to jp@mailinator.com! I don't have a Google Account and would rather not put my real e-mail address here in case spambots are harvesting the info :(
Thanks for the lovely contest!

shoot, i don't remember the very first thing i ever sewed was. i do remember making a really classy animal print button down shirt and short set in jr high. to my dismay now, i did wear it so i guess it wasn't a technical flop...lol...
I made a cat softie! It came out really ugly but it somehow looks like our own cat, so it's quite funny. That's the first I sewed when I got my sewing machine!
I 'attempted' to upcycle some jeans into maternity jeans, I'd never sewn a stitch, they didn't work out(sewing was harder than I'd anticipated!), ended up giving my chopped jeans to a shop to finish!! But it paved the way for me to learn!
Clothes for my teddy bear. I think she liked them! It was from an old shirt in a lemon yellow and thankfully she was relatively straight through in terms of her figure so there wasn't too much tailoring! Now I sew for myself and others. I've just moved overseas and had to leave all my patterns behind and still working out where to get them in English here. Found a good second-hand Singer machine though. Essential!!
very cute pattern & fabric! I'm about to get into sewing some things for myself so this would be perfect :)
I'm not sure what the first thing I EVER sewed was because that would have been in primary school and my memory is not that great, but the first thing I ever sewed as an adult was a quilt for my daughters 2nd birthday. And boy did that spark an addiction like no other! :)
I think the first thing I sewed was Barbie clothes. They must have been terrible, I can only imagine. As a 10 year old (or so) my mom put me in sewing classes and then the first real thing I made was a drawstring bag :D
My earliest sewing memory is of sewing rank insignia and unit patches on my dad's military uniforms when I was in middle school.
The first thing I ever made by hand I can't remember, I would have been really little. The first thing I made using the sewing machine was a (slightly wonky!) bunny rabbit plushy. I was probably about 6 or 7, and I made it with very little help from mum. It was purple and green and I loved it for many many years.
I first sewed baby doll clothes. I can't find them anywhere now but I have never looked back on my love of sewing.
My first sewing project was a tote bag and I completely winged it, it hasn't fallen apart but I really didn't understand the fundamentals of sewing back then so I'm too embarrassed to use it!
Thanks for a gorgeous giveaway!
The first garment I made was a jersey top, and it was a keeper! I haven't stopped making clothes since!
I love bird fabric, so I'd love to win this! The first thing I sewed was a pair of shorts when I was in 7th grade. I thought they turned out pretty good, especially because I never used a pattern!
So cute!! The first thing I ever tried to sew was a jean skirt with a zippered fly closure. Let's just say FAILURE!! :)
The first thing I have ever sewed was a zig zag quilt for my nephew.. Let's just say the learning curve was steep!
I love the fabric! I can't remember the first thing I ever sewed, but I do remember trying to make a dress for a friend's doll. She kept it although the seams were all wrong! sewvery(at)gmail(dot)com
A bunny for my sister. She still has it. lol
I can't even remember the first thing I ever sewed since my grandmother taught me when I was four or five years old. We did make a lot of clothes for my Barbies and dolls so I'm sure it was something simple for one of them.
Love that fabric by the way!
I dont remember the first thing, I think it was a skirt for me.
That pattern is cute. The first thing I sewed were Christmas dresses for my three daughters. They were pretty awful, but I'm glad I stuck it our and didn't throw my machine out the window.
rebekahricker (at) yahoo (dot) com
The first thing I ever sewed was a straight line on paper - hehehe my mama didn't even trust me with fabric at the beginning. The first thing I actually sewed that I could wear was a pair of simple jogging pants. I wore them until I grew out of them (I was 12 when I made them).
Cute fabric! First thing I ever made was a bean bag and the kids who I gave it to played with it til the seams would not stay togethere anymore, I even fixed it a few times so yee I think it was a keeper!
Have a great day,
A
The first thing I ever sewed was a giant foot pillow:) I loved it and used it for years!
LOVE the bird fabric!
solsmom(at)gmail(dot)com
Wow I'd love to have a chance to mess up and then get it right sewing clothes. So far I've only been able to look at stuff and think...um maybe sometime, but not right now. :) The first thing I ever sewed was a little bag with my Aunt. I still love her for helping me with that little yellow bag.
The first thing I sewed was a small applique apron with girl in a sunbonnet while I was in kindergarten. I had a lot of help, but it's a great memory!
I hand sewed some clothes for my Barbies. They were pretty awful!
brooke at richardchurch dot com
The first thing I ever sewed was some lop-sided hankies. Truly though, my skills have not improved too much...if I win this I probably will screw up the first time and need to use the other half of the fabric! Great pattern though, and lovely fabric. I hope I win!
ljbourque at gmail dot com
Not counting cross-stitch stuff I did as a kid with my mom and Grandma, probably a belt I made in college. I sewed D rings and hot pink little flowers onto some white belt like fabric (don't know the name-webbing maybe?) and got tons of compliments on it! I did it totally by hand so I was somewhat proud of myself even though it was fairly simple.
The first thing I ever sewed was a "pillowcase" style dress - that was WAY too narrow to be worn! I still don't know where I went wrong with that one, haha! I've since made many, MANY "pillowcase" dresses and they are all loose and comfy! ;)
Best,
Michelle
daydreambelievershop(at)gmail(dot)com
When I was 8, I made a teddy bear pillow that was made from scraps and stuffed with dryer lint. I have no idea what happened to it. Thanks for the giveaway! Merry Christmas!
I made a maternity skirt...NOT a keeper. I gave it to Goodwill and felt very guilty about it! Thanks!
I made a very small catnip filled pillow for my mother in law's cat :) It was good enough for the cat, but not much else!
The first thing I sewed was a little bag to bring to the beach when I was in high school. It had little cherries on it.
The first thing I ever sewed was a doll blanket. I think my mom still has it.
I can't remember that far back! Could have been an apron.
The first thing I sewed was a little pouch. Perfect for sunglasses. I was about 7.
Gosh - it's been so many years since I first started sewing I don't really remember what the first thing I made was but it was probably some doll clothes. Thanks for the opportunity to enter your great giveaway!!
I think the first thing ever was a skirt for me when I was about 15. It was an elastic waist skirt and I wore it for quite a while.
The first thing I ever made was a vest in high school home-ec. Let's just say it didn't get a top grade! Thanks for the chance to win your giveaway.
The first thing I made was a set of placemats for our new home and though they're far from perfect we still use them. Thanks for the chance, it's a great giveaway!
ap_lemos at yahoo dot com
The first thing I sewed entirely on my own was a toy corduroy mouse a few years ago - it became a grandmother of my other, better looking toy mice ;)
The first garment was a skirt I made from a different Simplicity pattern just last month and I like it very much, and I'm ready to try another one :)
Thank you so much for the chance to win.
The first thing I ever made was a pair of boxer shorts. NOT a success!
my first sewing project was my son pants. it was hard at first but at last i get it right. thanks
ivyworis(at)yahoo(dot)com
The first thing I sewed was an A line dress that was not a keeper because the zipper was all crooked.
Cute pattern and fabric! I think the first thing I ever made was pajama pants. They ended up being twice as wide as me but it was a good learning experience.
Hmm . . . I tried sewing when I was a little kid, but I have no recollection of what I tried to make back then. When I started again several years ago, I tried some DIY babylegs . . .they weren't perfect, but I still loved them!
Thanks for the great giveaway! The first thing I ever sewed was pillowcase dresses for my daughters. They were wearable, but full of mistakes!

The first thing I sewed was in Home Ec in High School. A gold cordoroy jumper that I cut wrong and it was way too short to be walking on a runway in! Our parents were there too.
I think it was barbie clothes. Might have been a skirt for me. I feel like I have always been sewing.
I made a baby outfit in high school. I kept but didn't ever use it! Love the giveaway, lexilucas@gmail.com
What a wonderful giveaway! The first thing I ever sewed was a sleeper for my Cabbage Patch Kid when I was 8 years old... and I sewed it with my mom's help using my Cabbage Patch Kid sewing machine. Can you tell I was a child of the '80s? Haha!
First thing I ever made was a teddy bear from faux fur, sewn entirely buy hand because I was afraid of the sewing machine. It was awesome!
Love this fabric and seeing a new twirly dress in my granddaughter's future!!
My first item that I (attempted to) sew was an adorable little apron dress for my niece. Fortunately for my granddaughter, I had my niece to practice on before she got here! It was out of Strawberry Shortcake fabric so she loved it much to her mother's dismay! Hahaha!! It was terrible! Of course I thought it was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. After my niece outgrew it, her mother gave it back to me to pass on to my granddaughter... AS IF!! haha I don't know what they did to it but it looked better when I first made it LOL It was truly awful. It's in my cedar chest so I can show it to my daughter's when they attempt their first masterpiece!
christyd8@bellsouth.net
I sewed a shirt in 7th grade and it was a disaster!
The first thing I made was a skirt with a waistband in home ec class. It was not a keeper. The skirt turned out fine, but the fabric I chose was ghastly.
The first thing I ever sewed was a drawstring bag when I was in 7th grade home ec.
kirkwood0419(at)hotmail(dot)com
Happy holidays , thanks for the giveway!
What pretty fabric! I honestly don't remember the first thing I ever sewed as I was little when my mom taught me, but probably a potholder or doll clothes...thanks for the giveaway!
The first thing was a large pillow. I was in college and my best friend and I thought it would be nice to have matching pillows for our room. We thought it was a keeper then but I sure wouldn't think so today.
Learning dressmaking is on my list for the next year, I tried once about 25 years ago but it didn't go very well, hence the big gap!
I've sewn forever but I remember a brown skirt and top that I made in 7th grade. I wore it out. It probably wasn't all that good but I loved it. Thanks for the giveaway.
I went to sewing camp when i was in 8th grade. we sewed a shirt and shorts. The shorts were keepers...the shirt, not so much.
sntbosch@msn.com

First thing I sewed was a simple skirt. It was ok. Thanks for the giveaway!

When I was a kid I was in 4-H and I made a dress that I entered in the fair and wore to a 4-H fashion show. It was a keeper then but looking back it was very homemade-looking (in not a good way). :)
Love the print! My first was a night dress - we did it at school)
Love, love, love that fabric. The first thing I remember sewing is a doll blanket. I was probably seven and had lots of help from my mom. I'm almost 50 and that blanket is still in my bedroom to this day. Thanks for the opportunity.
The first ever thing I sewed on my sewing machine was a tote! And I am still using it!:-)
Thanks for the giveaway!
Haha let's just say, I was not born a natural sewer... I hurt myself a lot when I first tried, and everything I made turned out atrociously.

:) Cute fabric! My first ever sewn garment was a petticoat. Ambitious, I know, especially since I had no idea about ruffler feet and had to hand-gather all 20 yards of it...
I took Home Econimcs in high school where I made myself a dark pink vest and skirt. Yes, I kept this outfit. Hey, I made this. Now I am quilting and the first quilt I learned to make, I also kept. It is by far ugly, but Hey, I made it. Your pattern and material is cute. I would make the skirt but just in case it does not turn out that great, I can always make a lap quilt and Hey, I made that and I will keep this because it was done my way and my quilting will always get better. I had meant great lady whose name was JuneBug also. I have always liked that name. Here's hoping you make a lot of new blogging friends. Merry Christmas and I just love your blog.

i made a drawstring bag at school, the first thing I made as an adult however (other than repairs/alterations) was an Oliver & S Sailboat top from a Mans linen shirt.
I can't remember what the first thing I sewed was...I've been sewing since I was about 6. SO it was probably a little doll dress or something.
the first thing i ever sewed was a dress, for myself, without a pattern .It was a keeper, but there was a lot of stitch ripping along the way!
The first thing I ever sewed was a stuffed octopus in Home Ec class in junior high school. I have no idea where that thing is now.
The first thing I ever sewed, and also the last for a very long time, was a skirt in Jr high. Keeper? Heck no! It was awful!
The first thing I ever sewed was probably a pillow stuffed with cotton balls. My sister and I made so many of those when we were little girls :) Thank goodness I've expanded my sewing repertoire.
First thing was probably zigzagging old towels for cleaning cloths for my mom, maybe age 6 or 7? When I was 9 I helped my mom sew shorts for myself and my sisters. The first pair turned out like a very skinny skirt with a point at the front and back! I didnt' understand pants construction... lol
The first thing I remember sewing was a button on a shirt. I was about 4 yrs old and my Godmother was teaching me. After she threaded the needle she wanted to show me how to do it but I was a self-confident little brat and thought I could do anything and of course I told her I could do it. She gave me the needle, told me to do it, and I did. Then she told me I did a great job and I should now button the shirt, but the button wouldn't go through the hole. Because, when I was sewing I was going up the hole of the button and down around the outside of the button! Yes, I did learn 2 lessons that day!!
The first actual item I sewed on a sewing machine was a tube dress for a barbie doll and I was 6 yrs old. I have no idea why but my mom trusted us on that thing even at that age!!
Thanks for the great giveaway, the bluebirds look cute!

I started out sewing barbie clothes - I dont' think I kept the first ones, but later I made keepers!
beth(dot)sebastian(at)gmail(dot)com
I absolutely don't remember, since I started when I was really, really small. It was probably something for my doll...I don't believe my mom would let me destroy any bigger piece of fabric lol
I really dont remember what it was, but I know it was crap LOL
I think my first project was a handstitched cape for a My Little Pony (the first round way back when). It was black satin with red lace. I still have it somewhere--didn't have the heart to throw away a little girl's efforts.
I tried a dress for my granddaughter as my first sewing outfit. It looked cute, sort of!

The first thing I recall making was a dress for my barbie. I traced around her and made it into a tube dress, not realizing that I needed seam allowances. Of course, it didn't work out! Luckily I've persevered and have made progress :) This fabric would make an adorable skirt with contrast trim! Thanks for the opportunity to win!!

I made a silky dressing gown. It is terrible around the shoulders but luckily you cant tell due to the slouchy dressing gown style so I wear it all the time!
The first thing I ever sewed was a little purse when I was 8.
The first thing I remember sewing was a patchwork pillow for my mom. She still has it.

The first thing I ever made was a simple To-Sew bear pillow when I was in 7th grade home-ec class. That's what hooked me on the sewing bug. I still have that bear around somewhere, and I am now 37! :o)
The first thing I sewed besides my doll clothes was a apron that we made in Home Ec. I wore it, the second was a beach coverup made from towels and I wore that alot.
The first thing I sewed was a simple rectangle bag with about four different prints of fabric. It was nauseating!!

I have been "learning to sew" for over a year. The first thing I sewed from scratch was a Green Bag Lady tote. Nothing but straight lines.

The first thing i ever sewed was in junior high home ec, and it was a pillow shaped like a hamburger. When i returned to sewing, the first thing i sewed was a cover for my sewing machine. Thanks for the giveaway!
The first thing I ever sewed was a skirt that I wore to my high school graduation. I would still have it, but it was stolen when my u-haul was broken in to when I moved. love the little bluebirds! Thank you for sharing.

Oh, wow, the first thing I sewed was so long ago, I can't remember what it was. But I have always like to sew bags, so let's go with that!
The first thing I sewed was a baby pants that too huge
The first thing I ever sewed was back in Highschool. We made a log cabin pillow. I actually had it up until a few months ago when my 2 year old managed to rip it! I can't say that it was that good.. well maybe it was okay for a first try.. but I just couldn't bring myself to get rid of it until my boy put an end to it! :)

Love that pattern! I first made a pillowcase dress and bloomers. Thank you. mamalusco at ortelco dot net
Ha! I think the dump loved it, but don't quiet know for sure.
I was in Home Ec and I made this little cute clutch-why did it end up in the garbage you ask? It ripped the first time I went to put something inside:( I didn't care that it was odd shaped and smaller then I had intended it to be, it was the not reinforcing my stitches and realizing I needed the bobbin thread to hold it together that made me throw it away(that and humiliation that the boy next to me had a whole handbag all fancy like).

Thank you for the opportunity;)
P.S. I am a lot better now;)
That's a very sweet skirt! I don't know the first thing I made... the first thing I knitted was a garter stitch headband in 4th grade, so the first thing I sewed must have been in girl scouts about the same time... I still have squares for making nine-patches that I started when we were reading the Little House series! dangandblast@gmail.com
A very simple cushion cover was the first thing I made. To be honest, I'm still very beginnerish in my skills but I'm slowly learning and having fun in the process!
