The setting? Coney Island Beach. Where we have here captured... the sand and surf, my own footprints, Lili's cute bare wet sandy feet, some mussel shells and one of the many jellyfish(!) that had been washed up onto the shoreline. This picture really truly is worth a thousand words.

a little taste of vacation
Wow. A little taste of my iPhone photo wizardry (because sometimes it is OK to toot your own horn):
The setting? Coney Island Beach. Where we have here captured... the sand and surf, my own footprints, Lili's cute bare wet sandy feet, some mussel shells and one of the many jellyfish(!) that had been washed up onto the shoreline. This picture really truly is worth a thousand words.

Wishing
In addition to some more free time (hello? Mira? Can you please sleep more?), there are some things on my wish list...
I would like my DVR back.
If not the DVR, then a VCR upstairs.
Oh and while we're at it, we need a new DVD player.
Oh yeah and the whole Alias series, on DVD.
Okay and I can be productive too so I would love to have a serger.
So I can do fun things like this.

Today is the Day
we leave Lili's door open at night
Mira asked me to read her a book (over and over again!)
we acquire another unicycle
I took care of 5 kids at once, by myself (granted, only for about 10 minutes but still)
that Mira went a whole day without baby-food (she ate real person food all day!)
......
And hopefully, tonight is the night that we get at least 8 hours of sleep. In a row. Hey, a mama can dream (pun intended).

Squashed time
Crispness has hit the air, and we harvested some pumpkins and winter squash from our rapidly deteriorating vines. I don't know why, but this year and last our plants became big and beautiful, and then succumbed to some kind of sickness and died off before they could become proliferous. So, whereas my parents get 5+ squash per plant, we got maybe .5 per plant. Oh well, something is better than nothing!
